Gaston Components AB is a company specializing in manufacturing complex mechanical parts through milling or turning. Our clients are from a variety of businesses such as medical equipment, telecom, optics, defense, etc. We have locations in Sweden and Ukraine.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Engineer to join our great team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality standards in our manufacturing processes, specifically utilizing our Hexagon Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to perform precise measurements. This position will also involve handling reclaims and working with the team to improve quality assurance processes.

Key Responsibilities:
Measurement and Inspection:
  • Perform precise measurements using our Hexagon CMM to ensure products meet specifications and tolerances.
  • Analyze measurement data and document results accurately.
  • Develop and implement measurement plans for new products.
Quality Control:
  • Conduct inspections and audits of manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Identify and report non-conformities and initiate corrective actions.
  • Support manufacturing with measurement protocols etc during production.
  • FAI according to AS9102
Reclamation Handling:
  • Manage reclaims by assessing defective products and determining appropriate corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to address quality issues and implement solutions.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process efficiency.
Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, measurements, and quality control activities.
  • Prepare reports and register them in our ERP system (Monitor ERP).
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in quality engineering or a similar role, preferably in a mechanical engineering environment. (milling and turning)
  • Proficiency in using CMM equipment, specifically Hexagon CMM.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) is a plus.
  • Previous experience from working against defense companies is a plus.
